From the Zagat review:

The young, the ambitious" and those for whom "English is a second language" are mad about this Haitian-themed Meatpacking lounge with an "exotic, lost-island" look... on weekends you can still expect a "tight velvet rope" manned by "prima donna" doormen ? so for any hope of entry "arrive early" and get "decked out to the nines.

From the CitySearch review:

Wrangle your way past the highly selective door staff to bask in the postmodern space. The lounge, designed by Robert McKinley (previously of Armani and Donna Karan), is simple but opulent, and takes cues from the Haitian background of its owners. Exposed brick and cinder-block walls imported from Haiti rise above the rosewood floors and buttery brown-leather booths to meet the vaulted 20-foot-high ceilings and wide skylights.

The scene is impossibly chic and V-V-V-IP--the door staff has strict instructions to allow entry only to those who are super-hot, well-connected or personally acquainted with the owners. DJs play eminently danceable tunes, ranging from classic R&B to world music.
