Announcing an Oktoberfest Potluck Party and Wounded Warrior Fundraiser! Come enjoy an outdoor afternoon and evening potluck where everyone will share plenty of German food and beer! The potluck starts early - 5 PM, so come early if you like or later in the evening. In any case, the last party went until 7:30 AM, so expect a late night!

NOTE: For this very limited (and high demand) charity event, pre-payment of $10 via PayPal is REQUIRED. Indicate in your RSVP that you have paid, or your RSVP will be deleted (with no hard feelings). If you cannot make it, refunds will be offered up until 48 hours in advance. Remember, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

This is a potluck party - everyone brings some good eats to share! The grill is ready, so we hope guests bring plenty of German sausages, along with regular burgers, etc. to pile on! Be sure to check back on this announcement page the day of the event to get last-minute updates - if there is rain, we will try to reschedule for the following day.

In the RSVP list, please indicate what you are bringing. Needed are:

• meatloaf, beef stew, chicken and dumplings, pot roast
• mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, potato salad, dill pickles, chocolate cake
• Westphalia ham with buttered bread and Steinhager (juniper-flavored brandy)
• Wurst, sausages: Brunswick Mettwurst (Smoked pork), Weisswurst (veal & herb), Leberwurst (liver sausage)
• Tafelspitz: braised beef with horseradish
• Rosti: potato pancakes fried with onion and butter
• Himmel und Erde - Heaven and Earth: pur?ed apples and potatoes topped with blood sausage
• Schwarzwalder - Black Forest Cake, a chocolate cake with cherries, whipped cream, grated chocolate
• Konigsberger Klopse: meatballs in caper sauce
• Hackbraten: meatloaf (braten indicates a roast of some kind)
• Sauerbraten: beef roast braised in wine or vinegar
• Hassenpfeffer: rabbit stew
• Schlachtplatte: mixed sausages, sauerkraut and potatoes
• burgers, hot dogs, ribs, veggie burgers are okay too (with buns)
• cheese platters
• vegetables trays, fruits, or salads
• soft drinks (mostly diet, some non-diet)
• six-packs or mini-kegs of German beer

Also, we need 4 grillmeisters, so if you are fine with an hour or so on the grill, just note that in your RSVP and you do not need to bring anything. First 4 responders only, $10 pre-payment still required.

If you do not want to bring food, you will be asked for an additional $15 at the door to cover common food expenses.

JOIN US AT A PRIVATE RESIDENCE

The easiest way to get to the party location is the 1 line to 86th St and Broadway. From there, walk two short streets south to 84th St and 1.5 very short avenues west to 319 (between West End Ave and Riverside Dr). The party is at the first floor rear apartment of a brownstone. Just buzz 1R and come on in! There is a Gristedes grocery at the 86/Broadway intersection if you want to pick up something there.

Please keep the noise levels down throughout the event, especially as it gets late. This is a residential neighborhood and the neighbors are very nice - and we want to keep them on our good side!
